How To Take On The Spring Clean

Spring cleaning is known as the tradition where you completely clean your home from top to bottom ready for the blooming beautiful months of spring and summer. Refreshing your home from the winter blues will be sure to brighten your mood as we head into warmer days and longer evenings. A Spring Clean consists of jobs that you don’t always have time to tackle during the busier parts of the year. So, scheduling in a weekend of housework to get these jobs done will be sure your home is set for summer! Our top tips below will be sure you won’t dread this year’s Spring Clean.

Write A List

Start by writing a list of all the jobs you’ve been meaning to get around to doing. These will probably be tasks like, cleaning the oven, an appliance clean (microwave, dishwasher, washing machine etc.), descaling of shower heads and kettles and decluttering. This will mean that you won’t have an endless list of jobs in your head, you can tick off each one as you go, knowing your list is getting smaller as you work.

Whether you enjoy listening to the radio or you there’s a brand-new album you’ve been meaning to listen too. Set the volume on loud and listen to something to get you in the mood to tackle the housework. Inspiring songs or your favourite podcast will be sure to make the time pass quicker and you’ll have fun while you do it!

Help Needed

Doing the Spring Clean isn’t a simple, easy or quick-to-do, so recruit your kids and other half to help too. Assign them a room each and let them take some off your plate. They can do the general tidying and dusting etc. and then you can do all the nitty gritty bits like cleaning the windows, hoovering underneath the bed and sanitising door handles and light switches.

Whether it’s those outside Christmas lights you still haven’t taken down or your kids bedrooms have no floor space left due to toy overload; tackle these jobs first! Removing mess and clutter at the beginning will keep you feeling in control and not overwhelmed.

Having the right tools for the job will make cleaning a breeze, so get your basket ready with staple products and away you go! Our must-have product that can tackle almost every job is Scrub Daddy. Great post! Spring cleaning can be a daunting prospect but it’s important to de-clutter and spruce up your life. Planning is definitely the most important thing and I love the idea of making a list. I would say that cleaning is all about experience – the more you do it, the better you become.
